Arches National Monument

The girls pose for a classic tourist shot at Arches National Monument outside Moab, Utah. Bowing to fatherly pressure Olivia does her best to refrain from striking one of her runway model poses (see below, where do they learn this stuff??!!)

Big Yellow Kayak

My mom and dad enjoyed exploring Lake Powell in the Big Yellow Kayak we carried around on the back of the houseboat.

Moveable Waterfront Apartment with Awesome Views

We rented a houseboat on Lake Powell on the Utah/Arizona border. Each day we took the houseboat farther up or down the lake to a new canyon or cove in search of a nice secluded anchorage with great views and a good swimming beach. It was great way to see some amazing scenery and enjoy the water.

Under the Milky Way Tonight

Standing (very still for the 30 second exposure) by our dying campfire Joana is back-lit by the Milky Way at our evening anchorage between Oak Canyon Bay and Hidden Canyon, Lake Powell, Utah.

Lake Powell Part 2

We found a secluded cove where we anchored the boat and ate lunch. Afterwards I went for a swim and the water was almost warm enough. Late May 2004

My Dad Vs. The Moose

My dad outruns a moose while my mom stays calm, cool, and collected enough to get the shot! Nice going! He had been shooting photos of the scenery on the other side of the fence when the moose came galloping down the fence line towards him. This brings back memories of Sunday mornings when I was kid. My mom would drag me to church while my dad stayed home and watched Rocky and Bullwinkle. I was very envious.
